What “ATS-friendly” means
An ATS (applicant tracking system) is a recruiting system that reads the text of your CV and sorts applications before a recruiter sees them.
It works best with plain text in a normal reading order. That is why this template has one column, ordinary headings and no graphics: the software reads it in the same order as a person.
How to use it
- Download the Word file and open it in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice.
- Replace every [text in brackets]. Delete sections you don’t need.
- Use words from the job ad in your summary and bullet points.
- Save as PDF before you send it, unless the job ad asks for Word.
